Bolognesi, D. P. (Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Troy, N.Y.), and D. E. Wilson. Inhibitory proteins in the Newcastle disease virus-induced suppression of cell protein synthesis. J. Bacteriol. 91:1896-1901. 1966.-Infection by Newcastle disease virus brings about a rapid and marked inhibition of cell protein synthesis (CPS) in chick embryo fibroblast monolayers. The block to CPS is initiated about 5 hr after infection, and by 9 hr about 85% of the host protein synthesis is shut off. Azauridine (3 mg/ml), a ribonucleic acid (RNA) synthesis inhibitor, prevents the virus-induced inhibition of CPS when added at the time of infection; but it does not prevent the inhibition when added at 3 hr after infection. When puromycin (60 mug/ml), a protein synthesis inhibitor, was added at 3.5 hr after infection, viral RNA was synthesized in normal amounts, but the virus-induced inhibition of CPS was prevented. Actinomycin D added at the time of infection does not, however, prevent the virus-induced inhibition of CPS. The results of these experiments indicate that proteins synthesized during Newcastle disease virus replication are responsible for the inhibition of host-cell protein synthesis. The synthesis of these inhibitory proteins depends on the prior synthesis of viral RNA.

Cloning & Expression of F Protein Gene (HR1 region) of Newcastle Disease Virus NR43 Isolate from Iran in E.coli
Background and Aims: NDV (Newcastle Disease Virus) is one of the viruses that cause disease in avian with severe economic losses in the poultry industry in many countries. Fusion protein (F) which plays a major role in the virus pathogenicity contains several regions that have a role in the fusion process. Mutation in the sequence of HR1 & HR2 regions of this protein prevents fusion of the viru...
متن کاملDetection of specific antigens of Newcastle disease virus using an absorbed Western blotting method
Newcastle disease virus (NDV) is an economically important poultry pathogen with a worldwide distribution that may infect a wide range of domestic and wild avian species. The identification of different pathotypes of NDVs plays an important role in the diagnosis and development of vaccines to control and eradicate NDV infections. In our previous study, we showed that mono-specific antibodies ca...

Zataria multiflora essential oil possesses immunomodulatory effects and the present study investigatesits effect on immune responses to live Newcastle disease (ND) vaccines and faecal shedding period ofvaccine strain virus in chickens. One hundred and eighty chickens from both sexes were divided into 6 equalgroups: group 1: unvaccinated, group 2: vaccinated (B1 vaccine followed by La Sota 10 da...

Background and Aims: Newcastle disease virus (NDV) is one of the major pathogen in poultry. Vaccination is intended to control the disease as an effective solution nevertheless this virus is a growing threat to the poultry industry. F gene open reading frame (ORF) from NDV is 1650 bp, encoding a protein of 553 amino acids that can induce protective immunity alone. The F glycoprotein on the surf...

This experiment was conducted for evaluating the humoral immune responses induced by Poly Lactide-co-Glycolide Acid (PLGA) microspheres coupled inactivated Newcastle Disease Virus (NDV) vaccine in comparison to an ‘in-house’ prepared inactivated and a live commercial vaccine. PLG microparticles containing inactivated NDV were prepared by a double emulsion technique based on solvent evaporation ...
